Costume Distribution & Care

DISTRIBUTION PROCESS

  1. EMAIL: You will receive an email notification when your dancer’s class has costumes ready to be distributed. We receive costumes from December through April, and distribute costumes as they arrive.

  2. FITTING: Please send your dancer to class in their “form-fitting” clothing (leotards/unitards/bike shorts/leggings) as we will be fitting their costume over their dance attire (no fluffy tutus, bulky sweats, or sweatshirts). Members of our staff will assist your dancer in trying on their costume during class and have them move around to see how it feels!

  3. SIGN OUT: At the end of class, parents will go to the studio host desk to sign out their dancer’s costume. Dancers ages 13+ can sign out their own costumes at the desk. (If alterations are needed, we will retain the costume to make the alterations, and you will be notified when it is available for pick up at a later date.)

Please Note: Your initials on the Costume Checkout Form will serve as confirmation that you received your dancer's costume and hair accessories. 

Tights: ***NEW this year! If your dancer’s costume(s) requires tights, they will be picked up at your dancer’s dress rehearsal and will no longer be included in costume garment bags at the time of costume distribution. Dancers enrolled in multiple classes will receive one pair of tights per color needed.

COSTUME CARE

  • We have done an initial steaming of your costume. Once your costumes are home, we recommend storing your costume outside of the garment bag, hung upside down to help fluff the tutu out. Please make sure your dancer doesn’t play or practice in their costume(s) at home. 

  • It is very important to keep ALL pieces together in the costume bag as we do not have extra accessories to give dancers at rehearsal/recital. 

  • We also recommend immediately labeling your dancer’s costume (on the inside tag) to avoid any backstage confusion at the shows.
