Below is an overview of the audition and placement process. We’ve designed this process to ensure that each dancer who joins Cultivate is well-prepared and set up for success within the program.
Step 1: Audition
During the audition, we will assess your dancer’s readiness for the Cultivate Program by observing:
Class-taking skills – We look for focused dancers who follow directions well and engage thoughtfully in class.
Demonstration of technique – Dancers are placed by skill level, with age-based expectations determining a dancer’s readiness for the program.
Following the audition, families will receive an email with one of the following outcomes:
Your dancer is invited to join the Cultivate Level Placement Class for 6 weeks over the summer.
Your dancer is not yet ready, along with specific recommendations for age-based classes at Bloom that will help prepare them for Cultivate in the future.
Step 2: Six-Week Level Placement Class
If your dancer is invited to join the Cultivate Placement Class following the audition, they will join a 6-Week Monday Ballet class.
Monday Ballet Class – Oakview Location
This class both builds the foundation dancers need for joining the Cultivate Program and helps us accurately assess and match your dancer to the correct level for the upcoming season.Dates: Monday, June 8, 15, 22 and July 6, 13, 20, 2026
Times: Between 4:30pm - 8:30pm (Exact timeframe assigned after audition.)
Cost: $139 / for the 6-week session
Fall Registration Note: While your dancer will not receive their Cultivate level until the end of July, your dancer should still register for all desired age-based classes as normal during our Fall Registration in June. After Level Placement is given, our team will work hard to ensure that dancers entering the program can remain in all desired age-based classes, while adding their Cultivate classes to the schedule. Therefore, when registering for Fall classes, we recommend avoiding age-based classes that conflict with Cultivate Levels 1–2.5, as this is the Level range that most dancers who are new to the program are placed in.
Step 3: Receive Level and Officially Join Program
At the end of the six-week level placement class in July, dancers will receive their level for the upcoming season, which will correspond to a specific fall schedule and tuition. Families will sign the Cultivate Contract to join the program and officially start their all-inclusive tuition, based on their given level. On August 1st, new dancers will pay a one-time enrollment fee of $99 along with their first month of tuition that corresponds to their level.
Step 4: Required Training & Season Expectations
August Requirements:
Dancers will begin training with their specific level during our required Back to Training Week in August.
Dates: August 24, 25, & 27, 2026Times by Level:
Levels 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5: 4:45–6:45 PM
Levels 3, 4, 5, 6: 7:00–9:00 PM
All new parents and dancers should plan to attend Program Parent Night on Wednesday, August 26th.
Regular Season Requirements:
Dancers in the Cultivate Program are required to enroll in all classes assigned to their level, with the option to add additional age-based classes if desired.Throughout the regular season (September–May), Cultivate dancers will also participate in program components that are part of the curriculum, including:
Ballet Vocabulary Quizzes

FAQS:
What are the class requirements for each Cultivate level?
Each Cultivate level has a set of required classes that dancers must take each season. These classes are carefully selected to support well-rounded training and help dancers build strength, technique, and confidence as they progress.
As dancers move up through the levels, the number of required classes increases to match their growing skill and readiness. Class requirements include a mix of ballet, jazz, modern, stretch/strength, and, at higher levels, pre-pointe or pointe (by approval).
You can view a full breakdown of class requirements for each level in the chart below:
