How to Register for Solaris
-
Solaris comes from the Latin word meaning “of the sun,” related to the energy, light, and influence the sun provides. At Bloom Dance Studio, every level of student is referred to as a flower, growing throughout their training. Our pre-professional dance house, Solaris, serves as the sun—bringing warmth, guidance, and inspiration to the younger generations through performance and instructing. Our pre-professional dance house is designed to equip dancers with the tools to become marketable professionals while furthering their technical abilities and expanding their experience.

Four Main Components of Solaris
Technique
We believe that strong technical training is essential for any dancer pursuing a career in dance—whether as a performer or an instructor. A deep understanding of technique not only enhances performance ability but also improves a dancer’s proficiency in demonstrating movement when teaching younger students.
Composition
The ability to create movement is essential, whether dancers are asked to contribute choreography as part of a company or to develop their own work for students. Our pre-professional training track provides dancers with hands-on experience in choreographic creation. Participants in the full-length training track will have opportunities to set pieces on their peers, developing their artistic voices and choreographic skills. These original works will be featured in the summer concert.
Choreography
Learning and executing choreography is a crucial skill for any dancer. Choreography expands artistic knowledge by allowing dancers to experience the creative process firsthand. The ability to learn and perform set choreography is essential for both professional performers and educators. Dancers will develop key skills such as musicality, spatial awareness, formation concepts, and teamwork. Solaris’ full-length training track will culminate in a summer concert, showcasing the pieces learned throughout the year.
Methodology
A well-rounded dancer is also a knowledgeable teacher. Our pre-professional training track breaks down essential elements of dance instruction, helping dancers refine their ability to teach and communicate movement effectively. Strong performers benefit from understanding how steps are broken down, while successful instructors empower students through clear technique, hard work, and encouragement. Every dancer will teach at some point in their career, so we ensure that our full-length pre-professional participants gain experience in: Lesson planning, breaking down foundational dance steps, sports ethics & performance coaching.
