Season Three (2024-2025)

Our auditions for the 2024-2025 season are now closed. If you are interested in joining the team, please plan to attend our annual fall performance and mark your calendar for next year's audition in the spring.

Ember Performance Team members will be given a pre-professional dance company experience under the direction of Miss Ali Darr and Miss Madeline Thompson. Ember provides an enriching experience to grow and expand creatively through performance opportunities.

Ember will learn contemporary choreography that will be performed in an annual fall show, a spring showcase opportunity and production pieces in Bloom’s annual Spring Recital. There may also be additional outside performance opportunities throughout the year.

Cost:

  • Audition Fee: $20

  • 10 monthly payments of $150 (August 15, 2024 - May 14, 2025)

  • Payment includes:

    • Team gear

    • Costumes

    • Weekly classes and rehearsals

Summer Rehearsal Schedule:

NEW! Ember Burn Month (Only 2 absences allowed)

  • Summer rehearsals begin Monday, August 12th at 4:30 pm.

  • Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursday: 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm.

  • Location: Bloom Oakview

  • Summer practices take place from August 12 - August 29, 2024.

  • Ember does not meet in the months of June and July or have tuition fees.

regular season schedule:

Regular Season: (Only 5 absences allowed)

  • Weekly Practice: Thursday, September 5, 2024 - Thursday, May 22, 2025 (NEW TIME! 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm), at Bloom Oakview.

  • Burn Night Week: Monday, October 21 - Thursday, October 24, 2024 (9:00 pm - 10:00 pm) at Bloom Oakview.

  • Fall Performances: November 8 - 9, 2024. (Please note: Students will be required to miss school on November 7, 2024, for a full-day rehearsal.)

  • NEW! Spring Showcase: March 2025.

  • Bloom Spring Recital Performances: May 2025.

Pre-Requisites:

  • Ember dancers must be students ages 14 - 18 years (must be 14 on/before October 1, 2024, and in high school).

  • NEW! Ember dancers must be enrolled in specific technique classes (related to the styles the Ember Team performs with) at Bloom Dance Studio during the season. Dancers are required to enroll in a contemporary class and a jazz class to be eligible to perform on the team.

  • Ember dancers must have a commitment to attendance at all rehearsals and performances.

  • Ember dancers must sign a participation contract.

FAQs:

  • What if I will be gone during Ember Burn Month? Can I still be on the Ember performance team?
    If you will be absent for more than 2 rehearsals, we kindly ask that you don’t participate in Ember. Burn Month is the time we use to set choreography for our fall show. Therefore, dancer attendance during Burn Month is imperative. 

  • Can I take part in Ember and The Nutcracker - Land of Sweets / YAGP?
    Yes, our programs are designed to allow dancers wishing to participate in multiple programs to be able to do so. 

  • Can I take part in other extracurricular activities?
    The Ember commitment is Thursdays from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm, along with a Bloom contemporary and jazz dance class. We may have extra rehearsals before a show, but you will have advanced notice of those extra rehearsals.

  • Do I need to take a certain class at Bloom?
    You need to be enrolled in a Bloom jazz and contemporary class throughout the season as a Bloom dancer and attend your weekly performance class.

  • What if my dancer is 14, but not in high school?
    Ember is designed to be (no longer than) a 4-year experience for dancers. Therefore, dancers must be considered a freshman in high school when they begin dancing with Ember. If your dancer is not yet in high school (even if they meet the age requirement), we kindly ask that your dancer wait to join Ember until they are in 9th grade before auditioning.
