Six Week Classes Descriptions:

Acro (3 yrs and up): This co-ed class teaches strength, flexibility and tumbling skills! This is a great class for high energy students! Classes are age and experience specific, and will focus on a variety of acrobatic skills and partner tricks! Our acro class for “littles” is called “Tiny Tumblers.”

Adult Fitness: This class is designed to make you sweat and your muscles burn. It will offer a combination of strength training and stretching, incorporating cross-training movements used by dancers. Come take this class if you want to build muscles like a dancer, whether you're a dancer or non-dancer, beginner or advanced!

Ballet/Pointe (4 yrs - Adult): Ballet gives dancers a solid base to learn many other forms of dance. It improves grace, coordination and confidence. Ballet classes include barre work, center floor technique and across the floor combinations. (To take Pointe class the dancer must have previous pointe experience.)

Cheer (7 yrs and up): Cheer class will include learning cheers, jumps, kicks, hip hop and pom routines! The class will also have include strengthening and conditioning elements to help build a strong cheerleader.

Contemporary (9 yrs and up): Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dance tells a story by showcasing the emotional spirit of music, through the body of the dancer.

Creative Movement (3 yrs): This class is based on a fun, well-organized atmosphere to introduce 3 year olds to the dance classroom. The class blends song, dance, and pre-ballet.

Dance with Me (2 yrs - 3 yrs): Share those special smiles and hugs in our class designed especially for a parent and toddler. This class provides the perfect introduction to movement and the dance classroom.

Hip Hop (4 yrs and up): Using upbeat music, hip hop gets kids to step outside the box and bring their own individual style and personality to the movements. Hip hop builds strength and stamina, and is great for both boys and girls.

Jazz (7 yrs and up): People enjoy watching Jazz dance as it is fun and energetic! Jazz dancing consists of fancy footwork, big leaps, and quick turns. Jazz is being offered for ages 7+ this summer.

Leaps and Turns (12 yrs and up): Leaps and Turns is closely related to a jazz class, but focuses specifically on turns and leaps. This class is designed for dancers with previous jazz experience who want to practice these skills extensively.

Musical Theater (7 yrs and up): Our Musical Theater class will introduce students to the techniques and methods of musical theater dance, which typically include a jazzy style of movement, as well as some singing, lip syncing, and acting. Musical Theater classes incorporate music from musicals and are a fun way for dancers to express themselves.

Tap (5 yrs and up): Tap teaches rhythm, musicality and coordination. Tap, a unique style of dance involving specific and rapid footwork, is highly recommended to become a well-rounded dancer, and for those children who tend to be more “free spirited.”
